Welcome! My name is Mackenzie Whitaker, owner of Willow & Twine offering Interior Design Services based in Plain City, Ohio! I am wife to my wonderful husband Nate, and momma to two beautiful kiddos, Taegan and Knox.
The Willow & Twine brick and mortar home decor store/design firm opened June 1, 2017. When deciding where to open the store, there wasn’t a question in my mind that it had to be in Plain City! My family has a rich history in Plain City (my grandpa created the town crest, I mean how cool is that?), I grew up here and now it is the place we call home and are raising our children. I love that Plain City has a small, supportive community feel, but is still close to Columbus, Dublin and other central Ohio communities. Plain City is a true hidden gem, and there is no other place I could imagine opening Willow & Twine! In the beginning of August, 2020, I made the extremely hard decision to close the store front. The shutdown for Covid-19 affected so many small business, and my little dream was not immune. It broke my heart to see my blood, sweat and tears come to a close, but I am determined to not let it be the end of Willow & Twine. I have transitioned my business to focus on my Interior Design clients and it has been exciting to see how the business has expanded since..
I haven’t always had a love of all things décor…flash back to high school when I had a very ugly and depressing plaid bedspread! Once I got married and we purchased our first house, I realized that decorating was my happy place; it was relaxing. Over the years, my personal décor style has definitely changed, but my all time favorite is mixing the old with new, and taking things that have personal meaning to your life and giving them a special place in your home! I truly believe that while a house can be beautiful, it also has to function to the lifestyle needed for your family.
The Willow & Twine team currently is creating beautiful spaces in Plain City, Dublin, Westerville, Delaware, Marysville and beyond. We specialize in single room projects, wood feature walls, built-ins, bathrooms and kitchens.
